Head Coach/Offensive Coordinator:  Jason Robinson

Coach Robinson attended Webber International University where he played football for the Warriors and earned a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration/Sport Management.

Coach Robinson comes to Mandarin from Olympia High School (Orlando, FL) where he coached for the last 3 years. While at Olympia he coached the Quarterbacks, Running Backs, and Wide Receivers. In 2007 the Titans finished 8-3 winning the Independence Bowl Game vs. Deltona. He also was the JV Head Coach posting a 6-1-1 record in 2007 and a 16-6-2 overall record.

Some of Coach Robinson's goals for this season are:

  • To be an example of what a Godly man should be.

  • To establish a tradition of excellence on and off the field.

  • Safeties Coach:  Thad Boggs

    Coach Boggs is a graduate with a Bachelors Degree in Textile/Polymer Chemistry from Georgia Institute of Technology (Ga. Tech) and also has a Masters Degree in Systems Technology from the Naval Postgraduate School.

    He brings over 16 years of coaching experience to the staff where he has coached Pop Warner and High School Football.

    Some of Coach Bogg's goals for this season are:

  • To help mold our players into better men, both on and off the field.
  • To help to establish a tradition of winning and to help create a winning mindset.
  • To help to convey to the players that the decisions they make, on and off the field, result in consequences and/or rewards.
  • To instill in my players to give their best effort at all times, not just when the light go on.
  • To instill in the players an attitude of striving for perfection and not being happy with just getting by.

  • Assistant Head Coach/Offensive Line:  Robert Dean

    Coach Dean is a graduate of Samford University and has a Bachelors Degree in Education and Athletic Training. He also has a Masters Degree in Sport Management from the University of Tennessee.

    Coach Dean played football for Samford from 1993-1996 as a Guard, Center, and Long Snapper. While playing he was a 2 time all-star candidate and in1996 was Samford University's Most Valuable Player. In 2004 Coach Dean was inducted to Smiths Station High School Hall of Fame.

    Coach Deans coaching experience includes 6 years as Offensive Line coach/ Co-offensive coordinator at Sandalwood High School where helped record 5 consecutive winning seasons, 1 district title, and 3 6A state playoff appearances to the 2nd round or better. While at Sandalwood Coach Dean had six 1000 yard rushers, numerous all conference backs and linemen. 1 All-American running back and 5 linemen sign division 1 scholarships. He also was an Assistant coach in the 2003 North Florida Shrine Game.

    Defensive Coordinator:  Steve Brown

    Coach Brown is a graduate of Eastern Kentucky University where he earned a Bachelors Degree in Sociology and a Minor in PE/Business.

    Coach Brown played football for 3 years at the University of Kentucky and then 2 years at Eastern Kentucky University where he was a two-year starter. Coach Brown also played for the AFL2 Jacksonville Tomcats (2001-2002), NIFL Myrtle Beach Stingrays (2003) and Daytona Beach Hawgs (2005) football teams.

    Coach Brown's coaching experience includes 1 year as the Assistant Offensive Coordinator, Special Teams coach Paxon School for Advanced Studies and 6 years an Assistant coach at Sandalwood H.S. where he coached the Running Backs and Quarterbacks Coach (2002), Special Teams Coordinator (2002 - 2007), Wide Receivers and Defensive Backs Coach (2003), Linebackers Coach (2004), Assistant Head Coach and Defensive Coordinator (2005- 2007). Coach Brown has also coached in the North Florida Shrine Bowl (2004). He has helped 7 athletes receive Division 1 scholarships and under his direction Sandalwoods Defense has ranked in the top 10 in the area the past 3 seasons. Some of Coach Browns goals for the 2008 season include, beat rivals Wolfson and Sandalwood, win the district, make the playoffs, defense rank in the Top 10 in the area.

    Running Backs Coach:  Jeff Dew

    Born in Detroit Michigan, and played high school football for the Lakeland Eagles. After high school, attended Central Michigan University and graduated in May of 2000 with a B.S in Secondary Education.

    After graduating, moved to Arizona and accepted a teaching position at Clifton High School. Was named head coach of Clifton's football program in Febuary of 2001. Was the head coach at Clifton for 3 seasons before moving back to Michigan in May of 2004.

    Accepted a teaching position at Englewood High School in August of 2005. Began coaching football with the Englewood Rams in May of 2006. Hired by Mandarin High School in April of 2008 to coach running backs and work with the JV football team.

    Defensive Line Coach/Weight Room Coordinator:  Josh Charles

    Coach Charles graduated from Florida State University with a Bachelors Degree in Social Science. His playing experience includes playing for the Seminoles as a defensive end and the Ottawa Renegade in the CFL as a defensive end and line backer. His coaching experience includes stops at Tallahassee Rickards High School, Clay High School, Fleming Island High School, and Englewood High School.

    Coach Charles goal for this season is see the guys turn into men on and off the field, especially in the classroom.

    Wide Receivers Coach:  Dennis Robinson

    Coach Robinson graduated from Jacksonville University with a Bachelors Degree in Physical Education. He was drafted out of high school by the Toronto Blue Jays as a pitcher and then went back to school at the University of North Carolina where he played for the Tar Heels. His junior year he was signed by the Baltimore Orioles. After another 2 year stop with the North Shore Spirit in a independent league he finished his degree at JU.

    Coach Robinson worked with the Mustang baseball team this year before being asked to join the football coaching staff.

    Offensive Assistant/Scouting Coordinator:  Gary Robinson

    Coach Robinson brings years of real world experience to the table for the Mustang staff. He is coming in as a highly experienced professional in the business world where he has been a General Manager and Sales Manager of multiple car dealerships. He also is a ordained minister and has served for over 30 years has a Pastor/Music Minister of many churches.

    Coach Robinson's coaching experience includes City Championship Titles as a youth football coach in Lake City, FL and as a player in high school at Mount Dora H.S.

    Wide Receivers Coach:  Karl Harris

    Coach Harris is a graduate of the University of North Florida with a Bachelors Degree in Criminal Justice and served in the United State Military. He is one of the current SRO's at Mandarin High School. His coaching experience includes being the Lady Mustang flag football offensive coordinator and coaching youth baseball and basketball.

    Coach Harris's goal for the season is to teach the game of football while creating strong, respectable, and responsible young men. This formula will lead to us having a successful football season.
